****** Produced by Barry Manilow in a foreshadowing of his later single Let's Hang On (1982), Dionne Warwick's underrated 1979 Disco funk excursion is a delight with its melancholy lyrical theme which would be continued with the later super smash "Heartbreaker" minus the propulsive beat and wild almost "Moscow" style breaks. It was the height of the Disco commercial period but this track remains a hidden gem along with Dionne's 1980 hit "Deja Vu" also from the same album, "Dionne". |
